A dietician, personal trainer and a vet tech walk into Communitech… for the next ZOOM Career Day.
The Business & Education Partnership’s final ZOOM Career Day of the year is all about careers in health and wellness. Grade 11 and 12 Students who are Specialist High Skills Majors in health and wellness from both the Waterloo Region District School Board and Waterloo Catholic School board will have the chance to visit the Communitech Hub on March 26.
Phil Jacobson, co-founder of PumpUp kicks off the day sharing the story of how he, and his co-founder, have launched one of the fastest growing fitness apps out there.
Students will then have the chance to participate in three interactive workshops throughout the day.
Featured presenters include representatives from Pranalife Yoga, who will give insight to what it’s like being an entrepreneur and having a career as a yoga instructor, and Grand River Hospital, who will talk about careers in nursing.
Don’t forget about those volunteer hours! Students will hear from different non-profit health organizations about volunteer opportunities—a great way to gain experience in the health sector.
Grand River Hospital, Communitech, St. Jacob’s Midwifery, Urban Wellness, and Jane Dummer Consulting will also be presenting workshops.
Students from the WRDSB can speak to their teachers or guidance counsellors about signing up and WCDSB students can sign up via the Specialist High Skills Major website. Registration opens February 12. We hope to see you there!
