Tonight is the finale of FUZEnation, a tech and music summit that brought headlining musical acts like Kygo and Atrak to bump elbows with tech luminaries from Silicon Valley and Waterloo Region. Steve Wozniak, Biz Stone and Alexis Ohanian made the flight north, and local stars like Steven Woods and Michael Litt made the drive to 44 Ardelt Place in Kitchener to speak.

Yesterday afternoon, seven leaders from the Waterloo Region tech scene — at every stage of growth — sat down with BNN Disrupters co-host Bruce Croxon for a fascinating panel discussion about the local ecosystem.

They disussed why Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian thinks we need more rich geeks, why they've stayed in Waterloo Region (and what it will take to keep them), how their businesses bloomed here, and why all the cool kids in Waterloo start companies instead of bands.
