It’s Father’s Day. You need a gift for Dad - something other than a tie.
The guys at Vouchr have the solution: give him an experience for anything, anywhere, at any time.
Vouchr, a user-generated, personalized gift-certificate company, is celebrating their global launch just in time for Father’s Day. Vouchr was founded in 2012 by serial entrepreneur Robert Balahura and designer Michael Humphries. The Vouchr team splits time between Toronto and Kitchener.
“Vouchr is a great way to share something new with someone. Maybe it’s a night at the opera, a new bar or a fun yoga class,” says Douglas Soltys, responsible for product and communications.
The premise is simple: Find something you like enough to share it with your friends. Maybe it’s a great new pair of running socks, or a cocktail your crazy about at a fun bar.
Make a voucher for any amount you’d like. Post it on Facebook and decide whether any of your friends can claim it at the venue, or award it to a specific person (like your father). It's not only a great way to share a new experience, but it's perfect for when you can't be there to enjoy it with them.
The Vouchr team is excited for the global launch, which will make the app available in 18 countries, including Australia, Netherlands, and the United States.
It’s important for the team to stay connected with Waterloo Region, where the team engineers work, says Soltys.
“The resources, work space and community element in Waterloo is under-rated,” says Soltys. “The Hub is an incredible space for startups to work.”
