Trustwave, a multinational cyber security firm with operations in 96 countries, is expanding its Waterloo Region operations.

The company announced today that it has opened an office at 609 Kumpf Dr. in Waterloo’s north end, where it plans to hire about 30 new employees to add to the 65 who already work for Trustwave in Canada.

Trustwave, headquartered in Chicago, previously had an office in Cambridge, where it opened a security operations centre last August. The Cambridge operation has moved to the new Waterloo facility, which has about 11,300 square feet and room for 90 employees in all.

The new office will house an advanced security operations centre through which Trustwave provides managed security services to clients headquartered in Canada as well as multinational corporations with operations in the region.

The Canadian office employs security analysts, ethical hackers, forensic investigators, researchers, engineers, sales and support staff that develop and deliver cyber security technologies and managed security services.

Michael Sims, who joined Trustwave as its Canada Country Manager in April, said the company “needed the extra space to support our current team and the massive hiring we’re doing in the Waterloo area. The new Canadian office is an innovative high-tech space that appeals to existing employees and will support our aggressive hiring goals in the region.”
