Tom Slee is an author based in Waterloo Region who writes about technology and society.
Slee earned a PhD in theoretical chemistry and worked as a postdoc at Oxford before taking a position at the University of Waterloo. Not long after coming to Waterloo Region in the early 1990s, Slee left academia to work in tech. He now serves as senior product manager at SAP.
Slee's first book, No One Makes You Shop at Walmart, examines human choice and markets. His recently-released second book, What's Yours is Mine: Against the Sharing Economy is what he came to Communitech to discuss.
