Maybe you missed the first Startup Weekend Kitchener-Waterloo. Maybe you attended and are thirsty for more. Well hold on to your hat, because it’s back.
Startup Weekend is returning to our region and will once again be hosted at the Communitech Hub.
From September 20-22, 2013, be part of a global movement that has swept through cities in more than 100 countries. Startup Weekends are weekend-long, hands-on experiences where entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs can find out if their startup ideas are viable.
Beginning with open mic pitches on Friday, attendees bring their best ideas and inspire others to join their teams. Over Saturday and Sunday, teams focus on customer development, validating their ideas, practicing Lean Startup methodologies and building a minimal viable product. On Sunday evening, teams demo their prototypes and receive valuable feedback from a panel of experts, and a winner is announced.
Who attends? Anyone interested! (On average, half of Startup Weekend's attendees have technical or design backgrounds, while the other half have business backgrounds.)
