Co-created by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario, the SmartStart Seed Fund supports new ventures led by Ontario’s next generation of entrepreneurs through funding, professional advisory services, and networking opportunities with leading entrepreneurs and investors.
Entrepreneurs can access seed funds through three different streams:
Stream A – $30,000 for youth entrepreneurs aged 18-29
Stream B – $60,000 for youth entrepreneurs aged 18-29
Stream C – $30,000 for non-youth entrepreneurs aged 30+
Communitech startups are encouraged to apply for an endorsement letter ahead of OCE SmartStart submission deadlines. Startups must review Section D of OCE’s SmartStart website and discuss with their Lead Advisor their interest in applying to SmartStart before initiating the process. Upon confirmation of acceptance from Lead Advisor, Startups are invited to fill a pre-selection form.
The deadline to apply for Communitech startups is noon on February 25, 2016.
