For the third consecutive year, OCAS – a not-for-profit organization with 73 employees - has been named a Waterloo Area Top 15 Employer. The annual competition, organized by the editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, recognizes employers in Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, and Guelph who lead their industries in offering exceptional work environments.

“This year has been one of significant growth and momentum for OCAS,” says Karen Creditor, President & CEO. “As we continue to pursue new opportunities and enhance our services for Ontario college applicants and our college partners, it’s vital we ensure OCAS remains a fun and effective place to work. This award recognizes the balance we’ve worked so hard to maintain, and we’re honoured to have received it for the third year in a row.”

Companies were evaluated based on the same eight standards as the national competition: physical workplace; work atmosphere and social activities; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.

“At OCAS, we believe in supporting our team not just as employees, but as whole individuals,” said Director of Customer & Employee Services, David Hong. “Whether it’s reaching out to the community through charitable fundraisers, stepping out of our comfort zones for company-wide learning and team-building, or introducing new ways to support work-life integration and a healthy workspace, we focus very hard on keeping the walls down, and working to support each other.”

This year’s Waterloo Area Top Employer winners were announced today, and will be featured in The Waterloo Region Record and the Guelph Mercury-Tribune on Saturday, November 25.
