OCAS, a non-profit organization with 84 employees, has been recognized as an Employee Recommended Workplace for 2019. Presented by The Globe and Mail and Morneau Shepell, this award recognizes organizations nationwide that have successfully achieved a healthy, engaged, productive workforce.
“We’re incredibly proud to have been named an Employee Recommended Workplace,” says Karen Creditor, President & CEO of OCAS. “The significance of this recognition is even greater having come from our own amazing employees. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to deliver the high-quality tools, technology and support we do today, and it is truly rewarding to see that they feel just how much they are valued.”
OCAS, which stands for Ontario College Application Service, helps potential students learn about and apply to Ontario’s colleges.
The Employee Recommended Workplace Award is the only one of its kind that is based entirely on employee feedback. Employees completed a confidential survey evaluating their total health in four key areas – work life, personal life, physical health, and mental health. Organizations that meet the standard of 69% or higher for overall total health score are recognized as Employee Recommended Workplaces, and with a score of 74%, OCAS is honoured to have achieved that designation.
“We care deeply about our employees and their well-being,” said David Hong, Director, Customer & Employee Services at OCAS. “As an organization, we’ve put significant work into fostering a healthy work environment for our employees, and into achieving a level of support that ensures their continued success.”
This year’s list of 75 Employee Recommended Workplaces was announced in Thursday’s edition of the Globe and Mail, and will also be featured in a special Globe and Mail report on Friday, March 29. To learn more about the award, and view the complete list of winners, visit the following link:
