Nothing motivates like a good example, and it never hurts when the example comes from someone with a bit of star power.
On Thursday in New York City, the companies of HYPERDRIVE's Cohort 2 were treated to another great day of startup inspiration from pros who know, including Joanne Wilson of Gotham Gal Ventures and Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit and online freedom advocate informally known as the President of the Internet.
Wilson, an angel investor with an eclectic portfolio that includes many female-led businesses, gave a frank and free-wheeling afternoon talk at the Canadian Consulate.
Later, at a reception at the official residence of Consul General John F. Prato, Ohanian spent a few solid hours with the HYPERDRIVE contingent, hearing pitches, dispensing advice and reigniting his apparent love for Canada.
We'll get into more of what was said at these events in future posts, but for now, our Facebook photo gallery will give an idea of the flavour of the proceedings.
The official itinerary wraps up today with a visit to lead HYPERDRIVE investor Jim Estill's Canrock Ventures in Long Island.
