During the past few years, startups have found a valuable partner in major consumer brands who provide real-world experience. In exchange, these brands get in on the ground floor of a new technology, before the bidding war begins.

This year, Digiday will bring together Hilton with a hungry tech startup to solve a marketing problem. Startup entrants must be unfunded, must provide a technology solution to a digital marketing problem and should have a love for stiff competition.

The winning startup will earn the chance to perform a beta test with Hilton.

The hospitality industry is in the throes of a digital revolution. From dreaming to planning, booking to check-in and beyond, the travel industry is in dire need of new ways to connect with  customers.

The successful startup will help Hilton Hotels solve a digital marketing challenge somewhere along their customers’ path to purchase, or in the execution of follow-up and loyalty programs. Their innovation will be partly funded but pre-series A and poised to scale.

Following the close of submissions on Aug. 1, Digiday will invite six to eight semifinalists to present their technology to a panel of judges at our Platform Summit in Half Moon Bay, Calif., on Aug. 14 and 15. At least one representative from Hilton and their agency iCrossing will be present on that panel.

The winning startup will earn the chance to perform a beta test with Hilton.
