The Consulate General of Canada in San Francisco is currently accepting applications from Canadian life sciences companies for the CTA program located at QB3. Applications for the spring cohort (April 1st –September 30th) will be accepted until March 5th.


The San Francisco CTA program for life sciences provides Canadian companies an opportunity to grow in a commercialization hub. The Bay Area is an integral part of the global value chain and a world-renowned centre for life sciences. This region is also home to some of the largest and most active life sciences-oriented venture capital firms. Astonishingly, the Bay Area accounts for one third of all venture capital investment in the United States. In addition to the risk capital ecosystem, traditional industry players like Genentech, Kaiser Permanente, McKesson, and Gilead are headquartered in the region. Further, Health IT is a dominant subsector that continues to present tangible opportunities for innovative Canadian companies. Essentially, the Bay Area presents growth opportunities for Canadian companies spanning a wide range of subsectors.


Our program seeks to facilitate the continued success of Canadian life sciences companies by embracing growth opportunities and providing access to the unique resources of this region and embracing. The CTA program offers office space within the prestigious Quantitative Biosciences Institute (QB3) where companies will be immersed in an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship, mentorship, and collaboration. During the six month cohort, participants will have access to experienced mentors and advisors, service providers, successful expatriates within the industry, and various events within the local life sciences community.
