Communitech forms exclusive procurement partnership with Mohawk Medbuy Corporation

KITCHENER, ONT., October 18, 2022 — Communitech, Canada’s Tech Supercharger™, has partnered with Mohawk Medbuy Corporation (MMC) to connect the not-for-profit, shared services organization’s industry-leading Innovation LaunchPad Program to founders in the tech ecosystem. Through this work, founders will be able to solve Canadian problems with homegrown Canadian tech solutions faster than ever before.

MMC’s Innovation LaunchPad serves as a platform for founders interested in integrating their tech into the public sector. Tech firms with products that meet the program’s criteria will be able to establish pricing agreements directly with MMC – creating a pathway for hospitals and other health care providers to access novel solutions quickly and easily.

“Finding opportunities to create integrated markets and break down barriers between tech firms and public sector procurement is a key pillar of Communitech’s True North Strategy,” said Chris Albinson, CEO and president at Communitech. “We’re thrilled to be able to supercharge opportunities for our founders to solve Canadian problems with Canadian solutions through this procurement partnership with Mohawk Medbuy.”

“Integrating transformative approaches into health care allows our Member hospitals to thrive and provide the best in patient care,” said Tony DiEmanuele, President and CEO of Mohawk Medbuy. “Our partnership with Communitech aligns perfectly with the goals of our Innovation LaunchPad, and we’re excited by the potential of this collaboration to streamline the adoption of new tech solutions that help address our Members’ pain points.”

Communitech works to connect founders with partners that are ready to validate ideas and explore solutions through its Future of X collaboratives. These programs are custom-built for tech firms to pilot solutions, navigate the procurement process and sell to big customers. Currently, active collaboratives at Communitech include the Future of Health and Future of Cities.
